State standard adopted to prevent industrial accidents
Statistics show that dozens of people lose their ability to work, get injured or die every year in our country as a result of industrial accidents and occupational diseases.
Each enterprise and organization shall be held responsible for ensuring healthy and safe working conditions, organizing control over hazardous and harmful factors of production, for damage to the occupational health and safety of its employees and the health of other persons as a result of its activities, in accordance with the procedure established by legislation. However, in some cases, industrial accidents occur due to improper organization of occupational safety and health management at enterprises and organizations.
With the aim of supporting entrepreneurs in this area, the Azerbaijan Standardization Institute, a public legal entity subordinate to the State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy, adopted the state standard AZS ISO 45001 "Occupational Safety and Health Management System" based on international standards and included it in the State Fund.
This standard can be applied by any organization wishing to create and implement an occupational health and safety system.
The introduction of the new standard will help entrepreneurs prevent occupational injuries and diseases, create safe and healthy workplaces, and manage occupational health and safety risks by taking preventive and protective measures.
Business entities and other interested persons can obtain the full text of the state standard through the official website (www.azstand.gov.az) of the Azerbaijan Standardization Institute public legal entity subordinate to the State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Market Control.
