The foundation of the automobile plant in Hajigabul Industrial Estate was laid

 

On February 9, the foundation of the commercial and special purpose vehicles production plant was put into operation in Hajigabul Industrial Estate. The plant was established jointly with Russian Gas Group and Azermash OJSC. Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu, Russian Economic Development Minister Maksim Oreshkin, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Bocharnikov attended the event.

The participants were informed that 100 new workplaces will be created at the plant with production capacity of 1,000 cars a year. The Memorandum of Understanding on the project, worth 14 million manat, was signed in April last year. The project manager, Azermash, was given the status of participant of Hajigabul Industrial Estate. Creating a car manufacturing plant in the Industrial Estate will also provide a favorable opportunity for the development of industrial production and service industries.

Then participants familiarized themselves with the models of automobiles planned to be produced at the factory and the conditions created for entrepreneurs in Hajigabul Industrial Estate.

The participants were informed that the state has created all the necessary infrastructure for the entrepreneurs in Hajigabul Industrial Estate. Established in a 20 hectare area, Industrial Estate consists of 4 production buildings with an area of ​​10,000 sqm, administrative and technical buildings of 937 sqm. The administrative building of Hajigabul Industrial Estate consists of meeting room, the areas for modern office space, exhibition and sales center, medical center, post office, dining room and etc. Entrepreneurs will be provided with accounting, law, banking and insurance, postal and internet, logistics and medical services in the Industrial Estate. 7 projects with a total value of more than 60 million mantas on composite materials, automobiles, equipment for production of construction materials, fertilizers, plastic containers, production of equipment used in building materials were created in Hajigabul Industrial Estate. More than 900 jobs will be created within the framework of these projects.

At present, placement of equipment in production areas and other preparations for production are carried out.

Then a meeting was held between Azerbaijani and Russian delegations in Hajigabul Industrial District.

Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev underlined the high level of political relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, development of cooperation in all spheres, expansion of ties as an indication of the political will of the Azerbaijani and Russian presidents. It was noted that  last year President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the Russian Federation three times and during the official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Baku was held IX Azerbaijan-Russia Interregional Forum, round tables on cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia in several spheres of economy.

One of the main directions of Azerbaijani-Russian relations is the economic, trade and mutual investments. Azerbaijan invested more than 1 billion US dollars in Russia's economy, and Russia invested more than 4.2 billion dollars in Azerbaijan. SOCAR Polymer project, establishment of pharmacy in Pirallahi Industrial Park, cooperation of Ganja Automobile Plant with Russia's Kamaz and Ural plants, etc. are key projects in the field of mutual investment.

More than 700 Russian companies operate in industry, construction, trade, services, banking and insurance, communications, transport and agriculture. Russian companies also participate in a number of projects as contractor. Shahin Mustafayev underlined the importance of the North-South International Transport Corridor, which is one of the most important projects in the field of transport and transit cargo, and stressed that the construction of the bridge over Samur River, Russia, will make a significant contribution to the development of economic, trade and transit cooperation.

The Minister for Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Maxim Oreshkin, emphasized the mutual visits of the friendly and neighboring countries - the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan, intensive meetings and signed documents - stimulated the development of cooperation between our countries. Maksim Oreshkin noted the great potential for the development of relations in the economic sphere and noted that the GAZ automobile plant, which is founded today, will be a successful project. Sharing his views on the development of relations in various fields of economy, the Russian Minister expressed satisfaction with the opportunities created for entrepreneurs in Hajigabul Industrial Estate.

During the meeting, the sides discussed development of cooperation in the fields of trade, transport and transit, industry, agriculture, humanitarian and other spheres between Azerbaijan and Russia, creation of joint ventures.
