Control over the observance of quarantine rules in trade facilities is being strengthened

The Ministry of Economy held an online meeting with executives and managers of large market chains. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Economy Niyazi Safarov, other senior officials of the ministry and representatives of the Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB).

During the event organized by the Agency for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises (KOBİA) under the Ministry of Economy, the participants discussed the state of compliance with the necessary rules of social behavior and sanitary and epidemiological requirements defined by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Operational Headquarter under the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the activities of large network of markets in the field of trade and services. The need to attract sellers and consumers to use protective equipment, to observe the rules of social distance, the importance of providing the limited entrance access for visitors to markets, and the need to supply the shopping centers with disinfectants was again brought to the attention of entrepreneurs. It was noted that the negative effects of pandemic could last for a longer time. In this regard, both society and entrepreneurs must adapt to new requirements, and enterprises must learn to work on the basis of new conditions, sanitary-quarantine and social-behavioral rules. The faster the trade and service facilities get used to the new rules and requirements, the better it will affect their business. It was mentioned that in order to monitor compliance with these requirements, the Ministry of Economy together with the relevant institutions will continue its monitoring procedures and serious measures will be taken in respect to retail facilities that do not follow the established requirements.

At the meeting, the participants listened to the proposals from the heads of market chains and gave answers to the relevant questions.
