General information about the organization

· Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) was established in 1948 and provides financing and advisory services in cooperation with the public and private sectors to promote sustainable economic, social and environmental development, reduce poverty, protect natural resources, and strengthen peace and security.

· 80% of the Bank's shares belong to the Government of Germany. The bank operates on behalf of the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development. Headquarters are located in Frankfurt, Germany. KfW Bank operates in more than 100 countries worldwide;

· Stefan Wintels has served as the board chairman since 2021;

· The Bank mainly operates in the areas of socio-economic infrastructure (energy supply, transport, and telecommunications), agriculture and resource protection, as well as providing credit to small and medium enterprises.

Information about cooperation between Azerbaijan and the organization

· KfW Bank has been cooperating with Azerbaijan since 1994;

· Since 1998, the Bank has a permanent representative office in Azerbaijan;

· In connection with the completion of the projects implemented by KfW in our country, the Bank’s office in Azerbaijan ceased its operations as of January 2021.

· KfW has been implementing various investment projects and providing consulting services in Azerbaijan;

  • Sovereign loans were attracted for 11 projects, and all projects have been completed.
