A meeting was organized with Baybars Altuntaş, chairman of the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF) of local start-ups. It should be noted that WBAF unites more than 1400 "angel investors" from 132 countries of the world and has offices in 10 countries. The purpose of the meeting with WBAF is to connect local startups with "angel investors" and inform them about the possibilities of entering foreign markets.
About 80 startups took part in the event "Startups: Access to the World" organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMB) at "Baku SME House".
Chairman of the Board of Directors of KOBIA Orkhan Mammadov provided an information at the event about various support and services provided by KOBIA to start-ups, micro and small entrepreneurs in order to support the development of innovative entrepreneurship in our country. It was noted that the Agency awarded grants and "Startup" certificates to start-ups on digital solutions for e-commerce, e-governance, e-payment, transport and logistics activities, e-agriculture and business, which are the main components of the digital economy. A Startup Development Center operates and various trainings are conducted on innovative business by the Agency's SME development centers, and events are organized in "Baku SME House" for startups.
Baybars Altuntash, the chairman of the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF), shared the experience of WBAF in entering startups to foreign markets, made a presentation on the opportunities in this field and the requirements of "angel investors" for financing startup projects, and answered the questions of the startups.
Zaur Gardashov, adviser to the chairman of the Board of Directors of KOBIA, provided detailed information about the state support mechanisms available in our country for local start-ups.
