The delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Mammadov met with the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade in the Czech Republic, as well as representatives of relevant institutions and Czech companies. Partnership issues in various directions were discussed at the 5th meeting of the Joint Commission between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Czech Republic, at the conference on trade, investment and business relations.
A delegation led by Sahib Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Economy, Co-Chairman of the Joint Commission on Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Czech Republic visited the Czech Republic.
In his meeting with Petr Tresnak, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Sahib Mammadov stressed the importance of developing relations between our countries and noted that mutual visits, meetings and business events play an important role in this regard. It was reported that economic and trade cooperation with the Czech Republic is expanding. Last year, the trade turnover between our countries increased more than 3 times. In addition, there are ample opportunities to strengthen partnerships in mutual trade, investment, industry, oil and gas, transport and transit, tourism and other fields.
Detailed information was provided at the event on the favorable business and investment environment created in Azerbaijan, the work done to reintegrate and revive businesses in our territories liberated from occupation, as well as the opportunities created for investors.
The Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Petr Tresnak, said that his country attaches importance to the development of relations with Azerbaijan, and shared his views on the directions of expansion of economic and trade relations.

The 5th meeting of the Joint Commission on economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation was held between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Czech Republic within the framework of the visit. The importance of expanding mutual economic relations in various directions, and the fact that the Joint Commission is a convenient platform in this regard, was brought to attention at the meeting, Czech companies were invited to participate in the implementation of projects in our liberated territories, as well as in Agdam and "Araz Valley Economic Zone" industrial parks, as well as to cooperate in Baku International Sea Trade Port and Alat Free Economic Zone.
Discussions were held at the meeting on the establishment of extensive cooperation on trade, investment, industry, finance, transport, energy, agriculture, food safety, "Smart City" and "Smart Village" projects, innovation, technology, tourism and air transport, land planning, standardization and other fields.

Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Mammadov met with representatives of companies "Skoda Avto", "Skoda Transportation", "Tatra", "AZD Praha" and "Mavel" in the Czech Republic, and opinions were exchanged in the meetings on the business environment in our country, concessions and privileges applied in industrial zones, localization of the production of automobiles and its spare parts in our country, issues of cooperation with Azerbaijani companies, and so on.
Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, State Tourism Agency, AZPROMO, KOBIA, Center for Analysis and Coordination of the 4th Industrial Revolution, "Azerbaijan Melioration and Water Management" OJSC and "Azersu" OJSC also held fruitful meetings within the framework of the visit, on bilateral partnership with relevant institutions of the Czech Republic.
