Meeting held at the Ministry of Economy with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy

Information was provided about the investment opportunities of our country, diversification of cooperation in the non-oil sector, economic and trade relations, promotion of mutual investments were discussed in the meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, Edmondo Cirielli.

 

The dynamic development of mutually beneficial relations, the role of high-level mutual visits, held events in the partnership, as well as the expansion of economic and trade cooperation were emphasized in the meeting of the Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, Edmondo Cirielli. It was noted that Azerbaijan and Italy, successfully cooperating in the oil and gas field, have great potential for developing their relations in the non-oil and gas sector as well. In this regard, wide opportunities for strengthening cooperation in "green" and renewable energy, agrarian industry, metallurgy, telecommunications, transport and other fields were highlighted, and the important role of the private sector in strengthening economic relations in various directions was emphasized.

Information was provided about the favorable business environment of Azerbaijan, the conditions created for investors, the transit potential of our country, and the possibility of participation of Italian companies in the projects implemented in the Alat free economic zone was brought to attention at the event. In addition, it was noted that the capabilities of the Baku Shipyard could be attractive for Italian companies.

Edmondo Cirielli stressed the successful development of Italian-Azerbaijani strategic cooperation, expressed the interest of Italian companies to be actively represented in the business environment of Azerbaijan, as well as to participate in the reintegration and business projects implemented in our territories liberated from occupation.

The parties discussed the current state of economic and trade relations between our countries, promotion of mutual investments and development prospects of cooperation.
