The foundation of a plant was laid in Hajigabul Industrial District for localization of painting, welding and assembly stage of car production.
The foundation was laid for the plant for the localization of the painting, welding and assembly stage of car production in the Hajigabul Industrial District under the Economic Zones Development Agency of the Ministry of Economy.
The investment value of the project to be implemented by "Azermash CP" Limited Liability Company with the support of "Uzavtosanoat" Joint Stock Company of Uzbekistan is 88 million manats. The enterprise is completely financed by "Azermash CP" LLC. The annual production capacity of the plant, which will operate based on the technologies of the USA, Italy, China, Korea and Uzbekistan, is expected to be 30,000 vehicles. The production line is scheduled to open in 2025. More than 1200 jobs will be created in the enterprise. Produced vehicles will be exported both to the foreign market and to the domestic market.
Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Mammadov noted at the event held in connection with the laying of the foundation, that importance is attached to the development of the automobile industry in our country and cooperation with Uzbekistan in this direction. It was stated that the plant will contribute to the development of the region and increase employment by accelerating the localization of production in Azerbaijan. Ulugbek Rozukulov, head of Uzavtosanoat Joint Stock Company, Emin Akhundov, chairman of "Machine and Equipment Manufacturers" Association, Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan, and Elshad Nuriyev, head of Economic Zones Development Agency, participated in the event and reported that the plant for localization of painting, welding and assembly stage of automobile production, which is another successful example of Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan cooperation, will promote the automobile industry in our country.
It should be noted that the "Azermash" plant, inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev in Hajigabul Industrial District in September 2021, plays an important role in the formation of the automobile industry in our country, in addition to being a great impetus for the economic development of the region. Cooperation with Uzbekistan is beneficial in this process for the economy of both countries. "Azermash" and "Uzavtosanoat" joint-stock companies have established "Azermash CP" joint venture in our country, the first production of the joint project "Manufacturing of passenger cars and passenger buses" was started and the production is currently being successfully continued. So far, more than 2.5 thousand "Chevrolet" passenger cars and Japanese "ISUZU" buses have been produced in 14 models.
