The 18th national Sustainable Development Goal, developed on the basis of the principles of the Agenda in the field of sustainable development until 2030, was presented to the international and local community within the framework of the second international humanitarian conference on demining under the theme "Combating mine threat - path to sustainable development".
The 18th National Sustainable Development Goal prepared on the basis of Transforming our world: the principles of the Agenda in the field of sustainable development until 2030 was presented to the international and local community by Huseyn Huseynov, Head of the Department of the Ministry of Economy, Secretary of the National Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development at the second international humanitarian conference on demining held in Agdam and Baku on the theme "Combating mine threat - path to sustainable development".
It should be noted that the initiative of the 18th Sustainable Development Goal was put forward by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev on March 2, this year at the Summit meeting of the Contact Group of the Non-Aligned Movement on fight against COVID-19 in Baku. The 18th Sustainable Development Goal entitled "Actions to Combat Mine Threats" was prepared based on the opinions and proposals of the relevant government agencies on the President's initiative, and was approved by the National Coordination Council for Sustainable Development.
The 18th SDG includes action to combat the threat of mines for safe return, resettlement, rehabilitation, prosperity and peace to our liberated territories. This SDG is aimed at people living in a clean environment, healthy and high welfare, including peace and security.
