Effective cooperation with the organization, as well as the holding of the SDG Summit and the 3rd SDG Dialogue, which will take place at the 78th session of the General Assembly of the organization, were discussed in the meeting with Vladanka Andreeva, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan.
Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva. The importance of expanding cooperation with the UN and its specialized agencies in order to achieve the socio-economic goals of our country was brought to attention at the meeting.
It was emphasized that the implementation of the commitments made to the UN on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Azerbaijan is one of the important elements of the state's socio-economic policy. In this regard, relevant state programs and strategies in the country have been adapted to the SDGs. The Framework Document on Sustainable Development Cooperation for 2021-2025 has been signed with the UN and is currently being implemented. It is necessary to accelerate the measures implemented in order to achieve the SDGs. The issue of organizing dialogues on the SDG in the next years in accordance with the directions arising from the National Priorities and the Strategy of socio-economic development in 2022-2026 was reviewed in the meeting.
The parties discussed effective cooperation with the UN, the SDG Summit and the 3rd SDG Dialogue, which will be held at the 78th session of the General Assembly of the organization.
