Cooperation expanding between member countries of Organization of Turkic States

Initiatives to strengthen cooperation in transport-transit, investment, digitization and other fields are increasing among the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States.

The delegation led by First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev is on a visit to the Republic of Turkey.

The 12th meeting of the ministers responsible for economy and trade of the Organization of Turkic States was held in Istanbul on the first day of the visit.

Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkey Omer Bolat greeted the participants of the 12th meeting of the ministers and wished success to the work of the meeting.

The First Deputy Minister of Economy making a speech at the meeting, emphasized the important role of common history, culture and values, the institutions represented by our countries, especially the Organization of Turkic States, in the development of relations between Turkish states. It was noted that Azerbaijan's partnership with the member countries of the organization is expanding in the economic and trade sphere, as well as in other spheres. However, initiatives to strengthen cooperation in transport-transit, investment, digitization and other fields have been increasing in recent times. In this regard, the creation of the Turkish Investment Fund, the Turkish Trade House, the facilitation of trade procedures, digital trade, the formation of a cooperation platform between the free economic and industrial zones of our countries are important initiatives in the expansion of economic relations.

Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Adham Ikramov, Minister of Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abzal Abdikarimov, Vice Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Daniyar Amangeldiev, Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Peter Szijjarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, and Olgun Amcaoglu, the North Cyprus Minister of Economy and Energy of the Turkish expressed ideas in their speeches for further development of partnership based on mutual support and solidarity by the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (TDT), which is covered in a wide geography, has great economic potential, energy resources, transport routes and many opportunities, taking into account national interests.

The Turkish World Business Forum was held on the same day in Istanbul.

Speaking at the Forum, the First Deputy Minister of Economy emphasized the importance of the joint action of the Turkish states in solving the challenges in the globalized world. It was reported that joint initiatives in the energy sector have significantly reshaped the regional and global energy landscape. These joint efforts serve not only to increase the energy security of the participating countries, but also to reduce Europe's dependence on traditional energy sources.

It was noted that the cooperation and joint investments carried out by the Turkish states actively affect the transport and trade dynamics of the region, and in this context, the economic efficiency of the Zangezur corridor is unquestionable.

There is great potential for the member countries of the organization to deepen their partnership in trade and investments, infrastructure, transport, agriculture, tourism, alternative energy and others. The establishment of the Turkish Investment Fund promises important prospects for financing mutual projects and strengthening future cooperation between member countries.

Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Mammad Musayev, president of National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Raimbek Batalov, Chairman of the Board of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan (ATAMEKEN), Temir Sariev, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adham Ikramov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Sport and Youth Policy, Parragh László, President of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mergen Gurdov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, Turgay Deniz, Chairman of Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce and Baghdad Amreyev President of the Turkic Investment Fund, speaking at the business forum, shared their views on the directions of development of multilateral cooperation relations between the countries represented in the organization. It was noted that so far, numerous meetings have been held between high-level officials of relevant institutions of the member states of the Union, and several business forums have been held. All these are important for the economic opportunities of the member states of the organization, the presentation of areas of cooperation, including the improvement of the investment environment, the diversification of the economy, and the deepening of business relations between entrepreneurs.

The forum continued with bilateral (b2b) meetings with the participation of business circles.
