Development of economic relations with Georgia, growth of trade turnover, promotion of investments and prospects of cooperation were discussed.
Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili during his visit to Georgia.
The minister pointed out the positive dynamics of economic relations with Georgia and drew attention to the potential in trade, investment, transport-transit, energy and other fields for the evaluation and realization of mutually beneficial opportunities.
It was mentioned that Georgia contributes to regional cooperation by actively participating in energy and transport projects initiated by Azerbaijan. As a result of this, our countries are among the countries playing an important role for the energy security of Europe today. In order to better use the high transit potential of Azerbaijan and Georgia, the possibilities of further strengthening of cooperation on the development of international transport corridors were emphasized, in this regard, the importance of the Middle Corridor was noted at the meeting.
Levan Davitashvili emphasized that the projects implemented with the participation of both countries serve regional development and noted the potential for expanding the partnership framework.
The parties discussed issues of mutual interest that serve to diversify economic relations.
