Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan business forum held in Ashgabat

The deepening of bilateral cooperation was discussed at the Turkmenistan-Azerbaijani business forum organized in Ashgabat and presentations were held on the business and investment environment of both countries.

A Turkmenistan-Azerbaijani business forum was held in Ashgabat under the joint organization of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency - AZPROMO and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. The officials from both countries, as well as 60 representatives of companies operating in industry, construction, logistics, food industry, agriculture, chemistry, finance and other fields took part in the event.

Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov emphasized at the business forum that economic and trade relations between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan are developing on an upward trend. It was mentioned that the existing agreements on the promotion and mutual protection of investments, elimination of double taxation, management of state property, cooperation in the field of small and medium enterprises have formed a solid foundation for sustainable and effective economic partnership. Promotion of trade relations with Turkmenistan gives positive results. Investment cooperation with a friendly country is also expanding. There are fertile conditions for mutual investment. The business circles of our countries should be active in mutual investment projects in order to ensure sustainable positive dynamics in trade and investment sectors. It is important to have partnerships in promising areas such as energy, industry, transport-logistics, agriculture, digital transformation, Alat Free Economic Zone, Baku International Sea Trade Port and other directions. Information was provided at the forum on the favorable business and investment environment of Azerbaijan, opportunities created by industrial zones, economic reintegration in our liberated territories for investors, Turkmen investors were invited to actively take advantage of the business opportunities of our country.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batir Atdayev expressed the importance of intensifying business cooperation between business circles for the continuous development of economic and trade relations with Azerbaijan. It was noted that the meetings and events held in various formats, the agreements reached will contribute to the strengthening of partnership between business circles and the realization of joint projects.

Presentations on the investment climate and business opportunities of both countries were held at the business forum. The event continued with meetings between businessmen in B2B format.
