An event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was organized in the Mugham Palace of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat called "Heydar Aliyev - Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan Brotherhood ".
A concert and an exhibition were held as part of the event with the participation of the Azerbaijani delegation led by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov.
Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan Gismat Gozalov emphasized in his speech the exceptional services of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the establishment and development of the modern state of Azerbaijan. It was stated that the progressive political course of Heydar Aliyev played an important role in the formation of mutual trust and respect between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, which have a common history and cultural values, as well as in the establishment of comprehensive partnership relations. The national leader contributed also to the expansion of multi-vector cooperation with Turkmenistan. Azerbaijan's ambassador to Turkmenistan also mentioned that modern Azerbaijan, which was founded by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, is successfully developing today under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. The successful dynamic development of Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan relations was also emphasized.
The event continued with performances by well-known artists of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.
