Next meeting of 'International trade' working group held

The next meeting of the 'International Trade' working group of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings was held.

At the meeting, discussions were held on the work carried out during the current year with the participation of the head of the working group, First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev, head of the Secretariat of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings, head of the sector for monitoring, coordination, and evaluation of economic reforms at the Department of Economic Policy and Industry of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vusal Shixaliyev, and head of the subgroup on improving the efficiency of state services in border trade, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee Natig Shirinov, along with representatives of relevant state institutions and the private sector.

During the discussions, the work carried out in 2024 by the International Trade working group, designated as the coordinating body from Azerbaijan, related to the Strategy Document on Trade Facilitation of the Organization of Turkic States was highlighted. It was noted that during the past period, efforts have continued to create joint investment funds, expand the contractual and legal framework, and enhance trade turnover and economic activity to strengthen relations with member countries of the organization.

At the meeting, presentations were heard on the legislative regulation of the quality of public services for facilitating international trade, data sharing and public consultations, as well as the results of monitoring the efficiency of time and costs related to import and export operations.

Subsequently, discussions were held regarding the implementation status of the tasks included in the 2024 Roadmap for the improvements and communication in the relevant field concerning the 'B-Ready' project report of the World Bank Group related to the 'International Trade' indicator, and relevant recommendations were provided.
