The future priorities of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in Azerbaijan, the possibilities of implementing green energy and infrastructure development projects in our country with the Bank's support were discussed.
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov has met with President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Jin Liqun within the framework of COP29.
The Minister pointed out that Azerbaijan has been cooperating with the Bank since 2016 and that our country attaches importance to this partnership. The Bank's support for infrastructure development in member countries was mentioned. The work done in our country regarding the provision of sustainable development, including the transition to green economy and the promotion of green energy was brought to attention. Priority projects were reported within the framework of the cooperation with the Bank.
President of AIIB Jin Liqun drew attention to the measures implemented by the institution to enhance economic growth and infrastructure development in the Asian region, noted the efficient cooperation of the Bank with Azerbaijan, and shared his views on the possibilities of partnership development.
The parties discussed at the meeting the main directions of potential cooperation, the future priorities of AIIB in Azerbaijan, including perspective projects on green energy and infrastructure development.
