Discussions were held in Serbia with the country's Minister of Mining and Energy regarding strengthening economic cooperation, including the development of collaboration in the energy sector.
A delegation led by Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Economy, Anar Akhundov, met with Serbia's Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović-Handanović, during their visit to Belgrade. The meeting was also attended by representatives of SOCAR and relevant Serbian state companies.
During the meeting, it was noted that Azerbaijan makes significant contributions to ensuring Europe's, including Serbia's, energy security. The economic relations between the two countries are expanding based on principles of mutual respect and reliable partnership. The energy sector is a key factor in strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.
The parties discussed issues related to strengthening economic cooperation, including the possibilities of jointly constructing a gas power plant near the city of Niš in Serbia.
