The "National Program" has been launched within the framework of the "4SI Academy." The first 7,500 registrants have started free training on the "Coursera" platform. The next registration for those wishing to join the training will be announced in the coming days.
Within the framework of the "National Program," implemented through the joint cooperation of the Fourth Industrial Revolution Analysis and Coordination Center (4SIM) under the Ministry of Economy and the Education Development Fund under the Ministry of Science and Education, free training has been launched for 7,500 participants on the U.S.-based "Coursera" online education platform in the first phase. Users have been given the opportunity to access an unlimited number of training courses on the platform for six weeks.
The next registration for those wishing to benefit from the training within the framework of the "National Program" will be announced in the coming days. Over the course of a year, tens of thousands of users are expected to take advantage of training on "Coursera," the world's largest online learning platform. The program aims to accelerate the transition to a digital economy in the country by developing knowledge and skills in Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies and supporting the preparation of qualified professionals in this field for the labor market. Azerbaijani citizens, regardless of age or employment status, can benefit from this opportunity.
Users can access courses and training programs from nearly 350 of the world's most prestigious universities and leading technology companies on the online platform. These include Oxford, Stanford, Yale, Duke, London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Michigan, Johns Hopkins, Illinois, Florida, Sydney, as well as Microsoft, Google, Meta, IBM, AWS, Oracle, GitLab, Intel, SAP, and Salesforce. Within the National Program, participants have access to nearly 8,000 specialized courses and programs covering Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies, artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, data analytics, blockchain, cloud technologies, programming languages, as well as leadership, personal development, and communication skills. Those who successfully complete the courses receive internationally recognized certificates from the Coursera platform.
Within the framework of the National Program, implemented in partnership with SOCAR, PASHA Holding, bp, and JOCAP, the 2,500 most requested courses on the Coursera platform are accompanied by Azerbaijani subtitles generated with the help of artificial intelligence.
Additionally, the "Hiring Solutions" tool is available for employers in Azerbaijan on the platform. Through this tool, companies can access information about individuals who have completed courses relevant to their desired skills and competencies and invite them for employment. Users can also benefit from the AI-powered "Coursera Coach" guidance feature to select courses aligned with their educational and career goals.
Notably, in the initial phase of the "4SI Academy" last year, 10,000 participants benefited from free courses on the Coursera platform over the course of a year on a rotating basis. Participants completed more than 32,000 hours of coursework, and those who successfully finished the training programs received a total of 4,200 international certificates. In 2024, the project was recognized as the winner in the "Artificial Intelligence Innovation" category of the "Outstanding Achievement Award 2024" competition by Coursera.
