Within the framework of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, opportunities for strengthening economic partnership were discussed during meetings and panel sessions.
A delegation of Azerbaijan led by Prime Minister Ali Asadov visited Uzbekistan to participate in the 4th Tashkent International Investment Forum.
As part of the forum, a panel session titled “Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan: Vector of Economic Partnership” was held. The session brought together government and business representatives from both countries to discuss the expansion of bilateral trade, promotion of joint investment projects, and strengthening cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, agriculture, industry, and digital technologies.
During the session, First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev emphasized that reciprocal visits, meetings, and events held between the heads of state have significantly contributed to the development of bilateral cooperation. He noted that the "Treaty on Allied Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan," signed during President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Uzbekistan last year, plays a particularly important role in strengthening the partnership.
Economic and trade relations between our countries are expanding. In the period from January to April of this year, trade turnover with Uzbekistan has increased more than threefold. Mechanisms such as the Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Company play a key role in strengthening economic relations. In addition, the establishment of other joint cooperation platforms could further stimulate economic partnership.
Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan Khurram Teshabayev, Executive Director of AZPROMO Yusif Abdullayev, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency Orkhan Mammadov, Director of the Uzbekistan Reconstruction and Development Fund Shukhrat Vafayev, Director of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Company Nazim Hajiyev, and Deputy Governor of Tashkent Sharof Rakhmanov shared their views on the development of economic partnership between the two countries in various directions.
Within the framework of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, First Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, Elnur Aliyev, met with the Minister of Foreign Trade of Gatar, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Sayed.
During the meeting, the successful development of Azerbaijan-Gatar relations was emphasized. It was noted that there is significant potential for strengthening economic ties between the two countries. In this regard, the implementation of joint initiatives is of great importance. Information was provided on Azerbaijan’s favorable business environment, various investment projects, and transport capabilities, and the prospects for future cooperation were highlighted.
The parties held discussions on joint investments, infrastructure development, the establishment of effective public-private partnership mechanisms, and cooperation in other areas.
