Organized by the Trade Representative Office of Azerbaijan in Turkey, representatives of several Turkish media organizations visited the liberated territories of Azerbaijan. During the visit, the media representatives from the brotherly country were informed about the business and investment environment in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, as well as the incentives provided for entrepreneurs in these regions.
The Turkish media representatives familiarized themselves with the restoration and reconstruction works carried out in our liberated territories, including the activities of the Aghdam Industrial Park. They were informed about the projects being implemented in the industrial park and the opportunities created for investors.
It was noted that the Aghdam Industrial Park was established by the Decree of the Head of State dated May 28, 2021, to realize the region’s industrial potential, reintegrate it into the national economy, and ensure employment for the population. The park’s priority areas have been identified as the production of construction materials, packaging of agricultural products, fruit and vegetable preserves, meat and dairy products, feed and fertilizer production and processing, as well as the development of service sectors, cold storage facilities, and others.
Covering an area of 190 hectares, more than 70% of the Aghdam Industrial Park’s territory has been allocated for use by entrepreneurs. In terms of the number of residents, the park ranks second in the country after the Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park. A favorable environment has been created in the industrial park to support the development of entrepreneurial activities. Businesspeople are provided with ready infrastructure financed by the state. From the date of registration, the park’s residents are fully exempt from property, land, and income taxes for a period of 10 years, as well as from VAT and customs duties on the import of machinery, technological equipment, and installations intended for production purposes.
Currently, the Industrial Park has granted resident status to 28 entrepreneurial entities with an investment portfolio exceeding 260 million manats, and non-resident status to 4 entrepreneurs. More than 115 million manats have been invested by the entrepreneurs in the projects, providing permanent employment to 653 people. At present, 9 enterprises are operating in the industrial park, and construction work is underway for more than 5 additional enterprises.
The products manufactured in the industrial park are sold in the domestic market as well as exported to foreign countries.
Representatives of Turkish media got acquainted with the production facilities of the residents of Aghdam Industrial Park: "Bafco Invest," "Mister Decor," and "Eel Electric" LLC.
Turkish media representatives also visited the Alat Free Economic Zone. Valeh Alasgarov, Chairman of the Board of the authorized body of the Alat Free Economic Zone, informed the journalists about the activities of the institution and the business and investment opportunities available there. It was noted that the economic zone, located at the intersection of major international trade routes and equipped with modern infrastructure, offers attractive fiscal and non-fiscal incentives. In this regard, the economic zone is favorable for investments in high-value and export-oriented production sectors.
Turkish media representatives also visited the Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park and received extensive information about our country's favorable business and investment potential.
