First Azerbaijan International Investment Forum continued with panel sessions

The panel discussed the integration of public and private sector financing, priority sectors for investment, and the role of sovereign funds in economic growth and diversification.

Within the framework of the First Azerbaijan International Investment Forum held in Baku under the patronage of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, panel discussions on strategic investments, financing, and healthcare were organized.

At the panel titled “Strategic Investment and Financing: Unlocking Public-Private Partnership and Synergy Opportunities,” topics such as the integration of public and private sector financing, priority areas for investment, the role of sovereign funds in economic growth and diversification, and the contribution of institutions like the Azerbaijan Investment Company and the Entrepreneurship Development Fund to economic development were discussed.

The session was moderated by Aliya Azimova, Country Head of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Azerbaijan. The panelists included:

· Sheikh Ibrahim bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, former Minister of Property of the Kingdom of Bahrain and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions;

· He Zhenwei, President of China Foreign Development Association;

· Nicholas Alberts, Head of Middle East at “Ninety One” company from the United Arab Emirates;

· Sunniya Durrani-Jamal, Pakistan representative and Country Director for Azerbaijan at the Asian Development Bank;

· Anar Novruzov, Deputy CEO of Azerbaijan Investment Holding;

· Chris Allum, Head Manager of UK Export Finance;

· Rovshan Javadov, Deputy Executive Director of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan.

Speakers highlighted strategies for attracting investment in priority sectors, financial instruments, and the application of innovative solutions. Participants also emphasized the importance of integrating state support and private investments in strengthening the investment environment in the country, and the role of collaborative networks in expanding promising investment opportunities.

Joint participation agreements were signed between the Azerbaijan Business Development Fund (ABDF), Basalt Group LLC, and ARGS Holding LLC. The documents were signed by Yasin Jalilov, Director General of ABDF; Rufat Baghirov, Director of Basalt Group LLC; and Emil Hasanov, Executive Director of ARGS Holding LLC.

An agreement was signed between EelElectric LLC and ABB Group (Türkiye) on the installation of Modular Panel Systems. The agreement was signed by Vusal Mirzayev, Director of EelElectric LLC, and Mahmud Rzayev, Country Manager of the company.

During the session, questions from media representatives were answered.
