Minister of Economy pays working visit to Kuwait

During the working visit to the State of Kuwait, discussions were held on deepening economic, investment, and trade relations between Azerbaijan and Kuwait, as well as expanding partnerships between business communities.

Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Subaih Abdul Aziz Abdul Muhsen Al-Mukhaizeem, Kuwait’s Minister of Finance, Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Acting Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Investment Authority.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that the economic relations between the two countries are expanding, and favorable opportunities to fully realize the cooperation potential in trade and investment were evaluated. It was noted that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to deepening the economic and trade relations with the Gulf countries, including Kuwait, and to establishing new cooperation mechanisms. Cooperation opportunities were highlighted in traditional and renewable energy, trade, agriculture, tourism, transportation, and transit sectors.

Information was provided about the legal guarantees and favorable business environment Azerbaijan offers to investors. Exchange of views took place regarding the promotion of mutual investments and prospects for joint activities on priority projects.

As part of his working visit to Kuwait, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov held a meeting with Rabah Abdulrahman Al-Rabah, CEO of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).

The discussions focused on increasing trade turnover and mutual investments, promoting dialogue between business circles, and emphasizing the importance of encouraging joint initiatives.

It was noted that currently, Kuwaiti-invested companies are successfully operating in Azerbaijan in the fields of industry, construction, trade, services, and other sectors, which reflects the tangible results of economic cooperation between our countries.

The importance of expanding the agenda of economic relations, cooperation in energy, industrial zones, and joint production was highlighted, and an exchange of views took place on new cooperation areas of mutual interest.

The Kuwait-Azerbaijan Roundtable involving private and public sector representatives from both countries was held in Kuwait City, jointly organized by the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO).

Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov spoke about the opportunities to increase the efficiency of joint economic activities between Azerbaijan and Kuwait. It was stated that deepening cooperation between Azerbaijani and Kuwaiti businesspeople will contribute to the more effective realization of the economic potential of our countries.

Various mechanisms for promoting cooperation in priority sectors such as energy, industry, agriculture, transportation, logistics, and tourism were considered at the event.

Yusif Abdullayev, Executive Director of AZPROMO, and Emad Al-Zeyd, Deputy CEO of KCCI, provided information on the opportunities for economic cooperation between our countries.

Representatives of Azerbaijani companies attending the event shared information about their activities, and discussions took place between the business circles of both sides.
