Meeting held with Chief Minister of Pakistan’s Punjab Province

The development of cooperation in investment, trade, energy, industry, transport and other areas has been discussed at the Ministry of Economy with the Chief Minister of Punjab Province of Pakistan.

Within the framework of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov has held a meeting with Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab Province of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

During the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with the current strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. The sides noted that the political dialogue between the two countries is at a high level, and the cooperation based on mutual trust is continuously developing. It was emphasized that the Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations have extensive potential in the economic field as well.

The discussions focused on the full realization of the economic cooperation opportunities, the promotion of mutual investments and the expansion of ties among business communities. The parties also highlighted the importance of strengthening joint activities in trade, energy, industry, transport and other areas.

They also stressed that the Preferential Trade Agreement plays an important role in expanding the economic ties and business cooperation between the two countries. The agreement contributes to enhancing the relations among business entities, increasing the trade turnover and shaping new avenues for collaboration.
