As part of the visit of the delegation headed by the Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov to the United Arab Emirates, a meeting was held with the Chairman of the Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) Saeed Mohammed Ahmed Al Tayer.
The meeting discussed the prospects for expanding relations in the O&G sector, cooperation between SOCAR and ENOC, identifying investment opportunities and joint projects.
The delegation headed by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov also met with Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies of the UAE, CEO of ADNOC Group of Companies, Chairman of Masdar Sultan Al Jaber.
“The goal is to transform our country into a country of clean environment and green energy, and the work is done towards the efficient use of energy and the creation of new sustainable energy sources. The potential of our country in the direction of creating alternative energy sources is great, and Azerbaijan is successfully cooperating in this area with Masdar. The diversification of energy production from renewable sources is one of the main goals, and cooperation with the company will contribute to the implementation of our priorities related to sustainable and clean energy”, the Minister of Economy stressed at the meeting.
The UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies, General Director of the ADNOC Group of Companies, Chairman of Masdar Sultan Al Jaber spoke about the activities of the company he heads and his experience of working in different countries and expressed satisfaction with cooperation with Azerbaijan, underlining that the favorable geographical position of our country, natural potential and the presence of developed infrastructure create conditions for expanding relations with the Masdar.
The meeting focused on successful economic relations between our countries, projects for oil and gas production and petrochemistry, and expansion of cooperation in the production of green energy.
On the same day, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with CEO of UAE Abu Dhabi Development Holding (ADQ) Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi.
At the meeting, an exchange of views took place on expanding cooperation in the oil and gas sector, investing in various sectors of the economy, and an agreement was reached that a delegation of UAE investors interested in investing in the agricultural sector would visit Azerbaijan in the near future.
