For the first time, orchards and nurseries have been planted in Yevlakh Pilot Agropark, and rootstock work is currently underway. To get acquainted with these works on the spot, the Agency for the Development of Economic Zones (ADEZ) of the Ministry of Economy organized a press tour to agro-park. First, media representatives were kept informed about Yevlakh Pilot Agropark. It was reported at the tour that the this is the first pilot agro-park created with the involvement of small and medium-sized farmers in the country. More than 70 million manats of private investment is planned for the agro-park as part of the project. For the development of entrepreneurial activity in the agro-park, it is planned to build an external and internal infrastructure system of the agro-park at the expense of public funds, issue an investment promotion document to residents and introduce a “single window” system. To achieve high productivity in the fields of the pilot agro-park, a smart management system will be applied, as well as agronomist services and business consultations will be provided. In addition, support will be provided for international certification of production with the aim of diversifying the sales market for manufactured products. The agro-park is planned to involve processing enterprises.
Yevlakh Pilot Agropark will produce dried fruits, jams, meat and dairy products, pasta, canned food, fruit seedlings, seeds (barley and wheat), animal feed and fertilizers, vegetable plants in greenhouse conditions, etc.
The agro-park covers a total of 2855 hectares area, of which 1147 hectares will be divided into plots, 1300 hectares will be the fodder base of the livestock complex to be created in the agro-park, and 129 hectares will cover processing and social zones. Long-term use of the territory of the agro-park by farmers has already begun, and lease agreements have been concluded with entrepreneurs for 1727 hectares of land.
Then the media representatives became acquainted with the activities of ISFA LLC, registered as the first resident of the pilot agro-park. They were reported that the company has started planting orchards and nurseries in the agro-park. 40 hectares of the sown area will be occupied by orchards, and 10 hectares by nurseries. Already 4 ha out of a plot of 20 ha have been planted with early ripening cherries, 2 ha with apricots, 6 ha with nectarines and peaches and 1 ha with cherry-plums. To grow 500,000 seedlings on an area of 5 hectares, 500,000 rootstocks were planted and a fully automatic irrigation system was installed. In the farm of ISFA LLC, located in the agro-park, 8 people have been provided with permanent and 30 people with seasonal work.
In general, it is planned to create 500 permanent and more than 1,000 seasonal jobs in Yevlakh Pilot Agropark.
