The meeting discussed the expansion of economic cooperation
The delegations of Azerbaijan and Russia inspected "Yarag-Gazmalar", "Tahirkand-Gazmalar" on the state border of the Russian Federation, as well as "Samur" and "Khanoba" border crossing points on the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan and got acquainted with the transit possibilities of goods and vehicles of the stations.
It should be noted that the delegation from the Azerbaijani side included Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, Chairman of the State Customs Committee Shahin Bagirov, as well as representatives of the Ministries of Digital Development and Transport, Foreign Affairs, State Border Service, State Agency of Azerbaijan Highways, the representatives of "Azerbaijan Railways" CJSC, heads of Khachmaz and Gusar district executive authorities. The Russian side was represented by the delegation consisting of the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, First Deputy Head of the Federal Customs Service Ruslan Davydov, President of the Republic of Dagestan Sergey Malikov and others.
Then a meeting was held between the delegations of Azerbaijan and Russia at the Samur border crossing point.
At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev emphasized the high-level relations between our countries based on friendship, the political will of the heads of state, the expansion of cooperation in various directions, the measures implemented for the development of partnership in the field of transport and transit. It was noted that improvement of the border-crossing infrastructure, increase of crossing opportunities, optimization of procedures are important steps. The reconstruction of the border-crossing point "Khanoba" will also contribute to the development of economic relations, the expansion of trade, and the increase of cargo transportation.
Alexey Overchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, shared his views on the development directions of economic and trade cooperation. Alexey Overchuk noted that increasing the capabilities of border crossing points will be important in the development of economic relations, especially in the direction of expanding partnerships in the field of transport and transit, and will create additional opportunities for expanding exports.
The parties discussed the development of industrial, trade, transit and international transport routes, cargo transportation, release of excise goods from the customs border, expansion of cooperation in the field of shipbuilding.
