The selection of women entrepreneurs who will participate in the project "The power of Women in Business" launched in 2022 has been completed. 134 applications were received for participation in the project initiated and organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) and "Rabitabank" OJSC, in partnership with the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Association for the Development of Women's Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan and "Marsol" LLC. 23 women entrepreneurs operating in Baku city and country regions were selected by the project jury. They work in agriculture, processing, food, light industry, creative and other fields.
A presentation of the project "The Power of Women in Business" was held at the "Baku SME House" on January 30. Chairman of the Board of Directors of KOBIA Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Rabitabank" OJSC Aydin Huseynov and Chairman of the Association for the Development of Women's Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan Sakina Babayeva informed about the importance of the project and the measures to be implemented within the framework of the project at the event held with the participation of the project organizers and partners.
It was noted that the purpose of "The Power of Women in Business" project is to support the enhancement of the role of women entrepreneurs in the country's economy, to increase their business activity, to raise awareness and to create conditions for building relations towards expanding access to preferential financial resources. Trainings, production experience and "networking" events will be organized for women entrepreneurs within the framework of the project. 3 best projects presented by the participants will financially be supported at the end of the project (1st place 5000 AZN, 2nd place 3000 AZN and 3rd place 2000 AZN).
After the event, the first training sessions began for the participants of project "The power of Women in Business". Representatives of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan provided women entrepreneurs with information on communication, leadership, dispute management and other topics, and answered their questions. Also, a mentorship training was conducted by Sakina Babayeva, Chairman of the Association for the Development of Women's Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan.
The project participants also got acquainted with the activities of "Baku SME House", where the services of public and private institutions are presented for entrepreneurs in a single space.
