Discussed economic relations with Belarus

Views were exchanged on the expansion of economic and trade relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus, the participation of Belarusian companies in the restoration of territories liberated from occupation, promotion of investments and other issues of mutual interest.

 

Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Alakbarov met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, co-chairman of the Azerbaijan-Belarus Intergovernmental Commission Igor Petrishenko. It was emphasized at the meeting, that Azerbaijan-Belarus relations based on the principles of mutual respect and reliable partnership are developing, and a multi-faceted contractual and legal framework has been created between our countries. It was stated that this creates a solid foundation for expanding our economic agenda and realizing our potential. The deputy minister informed about the economic reforms carried out in our country, and pointed out that there are great opportunities for expanding cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, industry, energy, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, transport, as well as in the restoration and construction works carried out in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur.

Igor Petrishenko has made a speech about his country's economic ties with Azerbaijan, the current state and prospective directions of mutual economic cooperation, noted the successful activity of Belarusian companies in engineering, transport-transit, agriculture and other fields in Azerbaijan and stressed that they are interested in expanding economic and trade relations with our country.

The parties exchanged views on promotion of investment and other issues of mutual interest.
