Discussions took place on the successful development of relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE, important projects implemented jointly in the field of "green" energy, and prospects of cooperation in the field of energy.
A number of meetings were held within the framework of the visit of the Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Views were exchanged at the meetings attended by SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf on the perspectives of mutually beneficial cooperation.
The Minister of Economy emphasized in a meeting with the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the UAE, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Chairman of Masdar Company, Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, that the goal is to transform our country into a clean environment and "green" energy country and informed about the projects implemented in the direction of efficient use of energy and the creation of new sustainable energy sources and their implementation status. It was stated that the potential of our country in the direction of creating alternative energy sources is great, and Azerbaijan is successfully cooperating with the "Masdar" company in this field. It was noted that diversification of energy production through renewable sources is one of the main goals, and cooperation with the company will contribute to the realization of our priorities regarding sustainable, clean energy.
Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the UAE, Chief Executive Officer of ADNOC Group of Companies, Chairman of Masdar Company, spoke about the activities of his company and its experience in different countries and expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation with Azerbaijan and emphasized that our country's favorable geographical position, natural potential and developed infrastructure create conditions for the expansion of relations with the "Masdar" company.
The issues of successful economic relations between our countries, oil and gas production (upstream) and petrochemical projects (downstream), as well as the expansion of cooperation on the transportation of hydrocarbon resources (midstream) and "green" energy production were discussed at the meeting.
The importance of efficient use of resources in the face of new economic challenges, the favorable investment environment created in Azerbaijan and the possibilities of cooperation with our country in the application of innovative mechanisms for sustainable development were exchanged during the meeting with the chairman of "Sustainable Water Solutions" Holding Ahmad Al Shamsi.
