Detailed information was provided in the meeting with business subjects on the latest changes and innovations in the "Rules for placement of goods under the special customs procedure for inward processing", and the questions of entrepreneurs were answered.

A meeting was held with entrepreneurs at the Baku SME House under the organization of the Ministry of Economy. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the State Customs Committee, the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and business entities engaged in export activities.

The entrepreneurs were provided detailed information at the meeting about the latest changes and innovations made in the "Rules for placement of goods under the special customs procedure for internal processing" by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers dated April 10, 2023. It was noted that the mechanism is important for the development of the processing and service sector, especially for the expansion of export activities.

The State Customs Committee presented at the event the rules for placing goods under the special customs procedure for inward processing, the granting of permission for the inward processing special customs procedure, and the application procedures.

A discussion was held on the points of interest to businessmen about the processing customs procedure, and questions were answered.

Note: Inward processing is a special customs procedure under which certain goods can be brought into a Customs territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan conditionally relieved from payment of customs duties and taxes, including VAT, for the purpose of export after processing operations. According to the changes made to the "Rules for placement of goods under the special customs procedure for inward processing", the entrepreneur who uses the procedure gets the opportunity to bring raw materials or materials to the country and export them to any country by processing them within the time frame stipulated by the legislation on the basis of a purchase and sale contract. As a result of the changes, the documentation process related to the inward processing special customs procedure has also been simplified.
