The implementation status of the wind power plant project implemented in Azerbaijan, the sea water desalination project, as well as potential opportunities for cooperation with SOCAR were discussed in the meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Acwa Power Company of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammad Abdullah Rashid Abunayyan.
Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov noted in his meeting with Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Acwa Power" Company of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Muhammad Abdullah Rashid Abunayyan that attracting investors to the energy sector of Azerbaijan, increasing the efficiency of renewable energy and the share of alternative energy sources in the energy sector are important issues in the economic development strategy of our country. Cooperation with ACWA Power in this direction, one of the leading companies in the sector of renewable energy resources, is emphasized. Last year, the company started the construction of the 240 MW "Khizi-Absheron" Wind Power Station in Azerbaijan, and this project indicates the big changes expected in terms of renewable energy in Azerbaijan.
Information was provided about the incentives applied for the implementation of "green" energy projects in our country, the implementation status of the wind power plant project implemented by the company in Azerbaijan, the sea water desalination project in Azerbaijan, as well as the potential opportunities for cooperation with SOCAR were discussed in the meeting.
