Expansion of cooperation between the two countries, potential joint projects, strengthening of energy partnership were discussed in the meetings held by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov in Turkmenistan.
Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov held a number of meetings as part of his business trip to Turkmenistan.
A discussion was held in the meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, on the work carried out in the direction of strengthening bilateral, regional and international cooperation between our countries and their effective results. According to the rich potential and resources of the two countries, favorable opportunities for diversification of partnership have been mentioned. It was emphasized that there is the most trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan among Central Asian countries, humanitarian, transport-transit, inter-port cooperation, as well as the possibilities of exporting electricity from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan were discussed.
It was pointed out during the meeting with the President of SOCAR Rovshan Najaf, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batir Amanov and his colleagues within the framework of a business trip to Turkmenistan that there are good prospects for the future development of energy cooperation between our countries. Strong relations have already been established in that sector, which is one of the main directions of Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan cooperation. The issues on the agenda of our countries' partnership in the field of energy were discussed at the joint meeting. The parties exchanged views on the current state of cooperation on energy exchange, joint exploration of hydrocarbon resources of the "Dostluq" field.
