Discussed expansion of cooperation in field of investment, joint projects and exports with Saudi Arabia

The participation of Azerbaijani companies in the projects implemented in this country, the export of food products to Saudi Arabia, and the possibilities of expanding cooperation in the field of alternative energy were discussed within the framework of the visit of the delegation led by First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

A meeting was held with the deputy head of the State Investment Fund of this country and the head of the General Department for International Investments Turqi Al-Novaizer within the framework of the visit of the delegation led by First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Information was provided at the meeting about renewable and alternative energy projects in Azerbaijan, the activities of SOCAR and Azerbaijan Investment Holding, the experience of investment funds created jointly by Azerbaijan with several countries, and more. Effective energy partnership between the relevant institutions of our countries was mentioned. The parties discussed investment cooperation in various directions, including possible directions of cooperation in projects implemented by the State Investment Fund and its subsidiaries in Azerbaijan and other countries, and an agreement was reached on the development of a road map in this regard.    

Opportunities for the participation of Azerbaijani companies in the projects implemented in Saudi Arabia, including infrastructure projects, were mentioned in a meeting with the co-chairman of Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council, CEO of "Al Rajhi International for Investment" Ahmed Ali Al-Dakhil. The parties discussed Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council's support for the participation of Azerbaijani companies in projects in this country, as well as cooperation in the field of food safety and other issues.

Opportunities for cooperation with our country in areas such as desalination of sea water, efficient use of renewable energy sources, and production of "green" hydrogen were evaluated in the meeting with Chairman of the Board of Directors of "ACWA Power" Mohammad Abdullah Rashed Abunayyan.
