The development of cooperation with the Bank and the work done in the framework of preparations for COP29 were discussed in the meeting held at the Ministry of Economy with the delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Harry Boyd-Carpenter, Managing director of the Climate Strategy and Delivery Department of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The Minister of Economy emphasized that Azerbaijan has successfully cooperated with the EBRD and attached importance to the development of relations with the Bank. It was mentioned that the projects implemented jointly with the EBRD accelerate the application of advanced practice, modern technologies and innovations in the direction of sustainable development of our country. The holding of COP29 in our country stimulates the development of cooperation with the Bank on the global climate strategy.
EBRD representatives pointed out that the Bank is interested in continuing the fruitful partnership with Azerbaijan. It was mentioned that the projects implemented in our country in the direction of transition to "green" energy and increasing the use of renewable energy sources are supported by the institution.
The work done within the framework of preparation for COP29, which will be hosted by our country, the establishment of dialogue with international organizations, and the effective regulation of resources to ensure energy efficiency were discussed during the meeting.
