Discussions were held on the development prospects of the Alat Free Economic Zone and the development of a road map for the activities of the Working Group on the Economic Zone.
The first meeting of the Working Group on Alat Free Economic Zone was held. Mikayil Jabbarov, Acting Minister of Economy, Head of the Working Group, Valeh Alasgarov, Chairman of the Board of the Authorized Institution of the Alat Free Economic Zone, and representatives of relevant state institutions took part in the meeting.
Information was provided at the event on the reforms implemented in the direction of diversifying the non-oil economy in our country, favorable business environment and investment attraction measures. The increased transit-logistics capabilities of our country were emphasized, and the importance of the Tool Free Economic Zone was noted in this context. It was pointed out that the main goal of creating the Alat Free Economic Zone is to ensure high value-added and export-oriented production in accordance with advanced management practices. Attracting investors who provide services using innovative technologies, contributing to economic development as a result of ensuring the cooperation of those investors with Azerbaijani companies, as well as creating new jobs are among the main goals.
It was mentioned that the existing favorable conditions in the Alat Free Economic Zone and the offered concessions increase the interest of investors in the Economic Zone. In addition to bringing great economic dividends to Azerbaijan, the Economic Zone will further strengthen the position of our country in the region, and the strategic importance of our country, which plays an important role in the international transport corridors of the East-West, North-South and Central Corridors, will increase.
