Discussions were held on the expansion of economic relations between Azerbaijan and St. Petersburg
A meeting was held in Baku between the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation between Azerbaijan and St. Petersburg, First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev and member of the Government of St. Petersburg - Chairman of the Committee on External Relations Evgeny Grigoriev.
The parties emphasized the successful development of bilateral relations between our friendly and neighboring countries. It was pointed out that business relations with the regions of Russia, including St. Petersburg, are expanding. The Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation between Azerbaijan and St. Petersburg is an effective platform in terms of coordinating the efforts of business circles and assessing opportunities for potential cooperation.
It was stated that important works related to cooperation in the fields of tourism, education, and sports were done during the past period, however, there are prospects for expanding the economic agenda. The parties exchanged views in this direction and discussed the issues of strengthening cooperation in economic-trade, innovation, SMEs, shipbuilding, agriculture, humanitarian, health, tourism and other fields, the Roadmap for cooperation between Azerbaijan and St. Petersburg in trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural fields for 2024-2028. An agreement was reached at the meeting to hold the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission between Azerbaijan and St. Petersburg in the second quarter of the current year in Baku.
