Economic relations, implementation of "green" energy projects, investment opportunities for expanding joint activities and cooperation directions within COP29 were discussed in the meeting with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates.
A meeting was held between Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, President of SOCAR Rovshan Najaf and Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei.
It was emphasized at the meeting that Azerbaijan-UAE relations based on the principles of mutual friendship and respect are at a high level, and the joint political will of the heads of state plays an important role in strengthening the cooperation between our countries. It was brought to attention that the partnership is expanding in economic-trade, mutual investment, logistics and other areas. It was emphasized that Azerbaijan is the main initiator and participant of a number of projects related to the production and export of renewable energy in the region. The successful cooperation in the field of "green" energy with the UAE company "Masdar" is of particular importance in terms of ensuring energy security.
The importance and contributions of our country to regional partnership have been brought to attention. It was reported that Azerbaijan cooperates efficiently with the participating states of the Special Program for the Economies of Central Asian Countries - SPECA on various platforms.
It was pointed that the favorable geographical position of our country, its location at the intersection of important transport corridors, and the increase in transit opportunities open wide opportunities for the activity of investors. Taking advantage of these opportunities, the implementation of joint projects with UAE businessmen can further expand regional cooperation.
Issues such as strengthening of partnership between the two countries, implementation of joint initiatives in "green" energy and other fields, directions of cooperation within COP29, exchange of experience were discussed at the meeting.
