Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and President of SOCAR Rovshan Najaf met with CEO of bp Murray Auchincloss.
The Minister of Economy emphasized that the long-term and efficient cooperation with the BP company is based on mutual trust and confidence. BP's special role was stated in the implementation of international energy projects authored by Azerbaijan, in the development of our country's energy resources, and in the implementation of investment projects. Information was provided at the meeting on the possibilities of developing partnership, the projects implemented in our country related to the transition to "green" types of energy, and the importance of the 240 megawatt solar power plant to be built by BP this year in Jabrayil district, which was liberated from occupation, was brought to attention.
Murray Auchincloss pointed out that BP is interested in participating in energy projects in Azerbaijan, including renewable energy projects. It was emphasized that BP is committed to the expansion of sustainable partnership with our country, and confidence was expressed that its long-term cooperation with SOCAR will be further strengthened. It was stated that the holding of COP29 in Azerbaijan is an indicator of the importance our country attaches to the development of the "green" economy.
The results of bilateral cooperation, as well as the possibilities of strengthening joint activities in the direction of transition to "green" energy, decarbonization, exploration and production projects were considered at the meeting.
