Within the framework of the “KazanForum 2024” International Economic Forum, the roundtable entitled “Russia – Azerbaijan: Industrial and Investment Cooperation as the Foundation of the Economic Development”, as well as meetings dedicated to the cooperation opportunities with Russian regions were held.
As part of the XV “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2024” International Economic Forum held in Tatarstan’s Kazan city, the roundtable entitled “Russia – Azerbaijan: Industrial and Investment Cooperation as the Foundation of the Economic Development” took place.
Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Alakbarov noted that the Azerbaijani – Russian relations are dynamically developing, as well as spoke about the prospects of the strengthening cooperation between our countries. It was emphasized that against the backdrop of enhancing the ties with Russia, the partnership relations among the business communities also expand. The realization of the existing economic collaboration potential may further increase the trade turnover volume.
Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Javid Gurbanov touched upon the significance of the “North-South” International Transport Corridor in terms of intensifying the trade relations, as well as the works carried out in Azerbaijan within the framework of the implementation of the project.
Governor of Astrakhan Province Igor Babushkin highlighted the role of the province in increasing the volume of cargo transportation between Azerbaijan and Russia, as well as positively assessed the potential for expanding the partnership in the fields of transport and international transportation.
At the roundtable, Orkhan Mammadov, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) talked about intensifying the ties between the businesspeople of the two countries. In turn, Deputy Executive Director of AZPROMO Zohrab Gadirov delivered a speech about Azerbaijan’s export and investment opportunities.
At the event, Trade Representative of Russia in Azerbaijan Ruslan Mirsayapov, President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Platonov, Director General of the “Khimgrad” Technopolis Ayrat Gizatullin, as well as representatives of the companies in the areas of transportation-logistics, e-trade and finances gave a speech about deepening the bilateral relations and held presentations.
As part of “KazanForum”, Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Alakbarov held bilateral meetings with governor of Rostov Province Vasily Golubev, Governor of Ulyanovsk Province Alexey Russkikh and head of Mordoviya Republic Artyom Zdunov.
At the meeting, development prospects of the cooperation relations among Azerbaijani and Russian regions were discussed; views were exchanged on the issues of mutual interest.
