Next meeting of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan working group held

Discussions have been held on intensifying mutual investments with Pakistan and increasing the volume of trade turnover.

During the visit of the Pakistani delegation to our country, the next meeting of the Joint Working Group on trade cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan was held.

The Deputy Minister of Economy and Co-Chair of the Joint Working Group, Səməd Bəşirli, noted the high level of political and economic relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan and highlighted the successful activities of Pakistani companies in our country. He stated that the Preferential Trade Agreement signed between the two countries is of significant importance for increasing trade turnover and further expanding effective economic relations in the future. Pakistani businessmen were invited to take advantage of the favorable opportunities created in Azerbaijan's liberated territories and industrial parks, and to invest in sectors such as agriculture, light industry, and tourism.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce of Pakistan and Co-Chair of the Joint Working Group, Cavad Paul, emphasized his country's special importance placed on the development of cooperation with Azerbaijan and shared his views on the prospects for partnership development. It was noted that our countries are deepening cooperation in areas such as trade, investments, industry, energy, transportation, and transport corridors.

During the meeting, several proposals were put forward regarding cooperation directions, and suggestions were made to intensify mutual investments and increase the volume of trade turnover. Topics discussed included expanding the contractual and legal framework in trade, investing in the textile, tourism, and energy sectors, as well as developing cooperation among small and medium-sized enterprises.

At the end of the meeting, the Final Protocol of the 4th Meeting of the Joint Working Group on Trade Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was signed.
