At the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Business Forum, officials from both countries and entrepreneurs representing various sectors held discussions on expanding economic and trade relations.
The Azerbaijan-Pakistan Business Forum was held in Baku with the support of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy, Pakistan's Ministry of Commerce, the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), and Pakistan's Trade Development Authority. The event brought together nearly 90 entrepreneurs from both countries, including officials and representatives from sectors such as pharmaceuticals, textiles, and industry.
The Deputy Minister of Economy, Samad Bashirli, highlighted that the economic and trade relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan are at a high level, just like in other areas. He provided information about the favorable investment environment and business opportunities created in Azerbaijan, as well as the successful activities of Pakistani companies in the country.
The deputy minister emphasized that there is significant potential for further expanding relations between the two countries. He expressed confidence that events involving business circles, including the ongoing fourth meeting of the joint working group and the business forum, would contribute to partnership, create new cooperation opportunities, and positively influence the development of inter-regional relations.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Javad Paul, described the business forum as a favorable platform for expanding bilateral trade and fostering sustainable economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. He highlighted the areas for potential collaboration with Pakistani business circles, including opportunities in industry, energy, tourism, and transport-logistics sectors.
The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in our country, Qasim Mohiuddin, stated that the high-level diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan provide a solid foundation for the development and diversification of economic partnership.
The Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMNDA), Orkhan Mammadov, highlighted the measures implemented to promote small and medium entrepreneurship in our country, the Agency's activities in this area, and the potential for collaboration with relevant institutions and entrepreneurial entities in Pakistan within the SME sector.
The Executive Director of AZPROMO, Yusif Abdullayev, shared his thoughts on the efforts of the organization in promoting exports and the prospects for expanding trade and investment relations with Pakistan.
At the end of the event, a video showcasing Pakistan's business and investment environment was presented, and bilateral meetings were organized among the entrepreneurs.
