Cooperation development issues were discussed and a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between AZPROMO and the Federation of GCC Chambers of Commerce (FGCCC) at the 2nd economic forum of Azerbaijan - Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries.
An economic forum of Azerbaijan - Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries was held with the support of the Ministry of Economy and the organization of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan – AZPROMO.
Deputy Minister of Economy Anar Akhundov, Mohammed bin Hassan Al Malki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Khaled Ali Bin Salem Al-Senaidi, Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Development Affairs at the General Secretariat of the GCC, Chairman of the Federation of Gulf Countries Chambers of Commerce (FGCCC) Sheikh Faisal bin Abdulla Al-Rawas, heads of relevant institutions and entrepreneurs took part at the forum where business circles of GCC countries are informed about the business environment of Azerbaijan, the reforms implemented in our country, and opportunities for expanding cooperation are discussed.
It was pointed out that the political relations between the member states of the organization and Azerbaijan are at a high level, mutual respect and friendly relations are successfully developing, and the importance of high-level mutual visits in terms of expanding relations was emphasized at the forum.
It was mentioned that cooperation with Gulf countries is important in terms of diversification of Azerbaijan's economy and effective realization of investment opportunities. Energy, trade and infrastructure development initiatives contribute significantly to regional stability and prosperity. Economic relations between Azerbaijan and the GCC countries are developing tday on the basis of mutual interest.
The favorable business environment formed in Azerbaijan and the attractive opportunities created for foreign investors, as well as the applied tax and customs concessions, continuously increase the interest of foreign investors in our country. Successful co-projects with foreign investors are implemented in many fields, such as renewable energy, industry, agriculture, tourism, transport and logistics, digitization.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on mutual cooperation within the framework of the forum, between AZPROMO and the Federation of GCC Chambers of Commerce (FGCCC). The cooperation issues between AZPROMO and GCC regarding the promotion of mutual activity for the development of economic relations, support of attraction of mutual investments, organization of economic forums, exhibitions and trade missions were reflected In the document.
Panel sessions were organized within the framework of the event on "Cooperation in the fields of renewable energy, clean energy, electricity and water", "Strategic partnership between the GCC countries and Azerbaijan in the fields of agriculture, food safety and food industry" and "Challenges and opportunities in the transport and logistics sectors".
Presentations were heard, bilateral meetings were organized between businessmen, issues of cooperation expansion were discussed within the framework of the economic forum.
