The State Tax Service (STS) under the Ministry of Economy held a meeting with taxpayers engaged in entrepreneurial activities in Fuzuli, Agdam, and Khojavend.
During the meeting attended by nearly 70 micro and small business entities operating in various sectors, information was provided to taxpayers regarding the services offered, tax incentives applicable in the liberated territories, including the provision of loans with state guarantees and the subsidization of loan interest rates.
Emin Huseynov, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Agdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend districts, highlighted the economic potential of these regions. Participants were provided with detailed information about the reconstruction and restoration works being carried out in the cities of Agdam and Fuzuli under the leadership of the President, as well as the investment opportunities available in these areas.
Emin Shirinov, a member of the Board of the Entrepreneurship Development Fund (EDF), provided information about the activities of the organization and the financial support tools available for entrepreneurial entities. It was noted that up to 24 million manat in concessional loans has been allocated for financing projects implemented in the areas liberated from occupation to date. He emphasized that the EDF is keen on facilitating entrepreneurs' access to this mechanism and is ready to support business representatives within its authority in this regard.
The head of the Regional Tax Authority of Karabakh, Alekber Mammadov, addressed several points related to the first state program concerning the large return to the liberated areas. He provided information on the efforts made by the government to develop entrepreneurship in these regions. He noted that the support mechanisms aimed at promoting entrepreneurship are crucial for the resettlement of people, attracting the workforce, and the growth of infrastructure in these areas.
It was noted during the meeting that monitoring of tax payers operating in the liberated areas has been conducted, with the main objective being to assess the registration of entrepreneurial entities with the tax authorities. This is because only registered entrepreneurial entities can obtain resident status in these areas and benefit from tax concessions.
