Economy minister holds series of meetings in Istanbul

Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov held discussions with the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Kubanychbek Omuraliev, and Turkey’s Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kajir.

During his visit to Istanbul, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Kubanychbek Omuraliev.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, places special importance on cooperation with the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). The organization’s activities were highlighted as crucial for the efficient use of the economic potential of Turkic states and the promotion of joint projects. It was noted that the initiatives put forward by member states aim to address modern challenges in areas such as trade, energy, investment, and digitalization. This approach not only supports sustainable economic development in these countries but also strengthens regional cooperation. In this context, the establishment of the Turkic Investment Fund, the simplification of trade procedures, the development of the digital economy, and the increase in investments are key directions for expanding the partnership.

The parties also discussed matters of mutual interest aimed at strengthening economic partnership within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States.

As part of the 1st Meeting of the Ministers of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation of the Organization of Turkic States in Istanbul, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Turkey's Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kajır.

During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the development of friendly and brotherly relations between the two countries across various areas. Opportunities for expanding economic partnership were highlighted, including mutual investments, experience exchange in the fields of industry and technology, and strengthening cooperation in other areas. Emphasis was placed on the importance of utilizing existing opportunities to reinforce the economic unity of both countries, support active collaboration within international organizations, and expand relations between Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy and Turkey's Ministry of Industry and Technology.

The parties exchanged views on expanding economic and trade relations, involving Turkish businesspeople in new projects in Azerbaijan, and investing in industrial parks and zones.
