A meeting was held at the Ministry of Economy with a delegation from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to discuss the development of cooperation.
Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with a delegation led by Charles Donald, Chair of the OECD Working Party on State Ownership and Privatisation Practices and CEO of the UK Government Investments.
The meeting highlighted the successful partnership with the OECD and emphasized the importance of joint efforts in various fields. It was noted that Azerbaijan is implementing measures to diversify its economy, reduce state involvement in state-owned enterprises, enhance economic efficiency, and improve financial sustainability.
The OECD representatives expressed their satisfaction with the implementation of joint projects with Azerbaijan and shared their experiences regarding governance principles in state-owned enterprises of the organization’s member countries.
New directions for developing cooperation between Azerbaijan and the OECD were discussed, along with priority issues related to ensuring the sustainable operation of the Azerbaijan Investment Holding and its portfolio companies, as well as their management in line with corporate governance principles.
