Ministry of Economy held several meetings during President Ilham Aliyev's participation in the World Economic Forum

Within the framework of President Ilham Aliyev's participation in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, together with SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf, held a meeting with bp's Executive Vice President for Production and Operations, Gordon Birrell. During the meeting, bp's active participation in the green energy transition, its effective cooperation with Azerbaijan, and the diversification of joint activities were discussed.

Minister Mikayil Jabbarov, along with SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf, also met with Patrick Pouyanné, CEO of TotalEnergies, during the WEF. The discussion focused on green energy, decarbonization, the application of innovative technologies, and the development of energy storage systems. The parties also exchanged views on ongoing projects and future cooperation prospects.

Additionally, the Minister of Economy met with Morten Dyrholm, Vice President of Vestas Wind Systems A/S, at the WEF. They discussed the importance of implementing green technologies, the effective outcomes of innovative solutions in the industry, and opportunities for cooperation with the company in the field of wind energy.

During the "Trade and Investment Leadership Lunch" session held within the forum, priorities for trade and investment activities for the year were reviewed. Topics such as the geopolitical impact on economic diversification, innovation and efficiency, governance, and development were addressed.

Deputy Minister of Economy Anar Akhundov met with Fuad Hayel Saeed Anam, a member of the Board of Directors of HSA Group. The meeting highlighted Azerbaijan's favorable business environment for foreign investors. Opportunities for collaboration in the agricultural sector, industry, and the application of sustainable approaches in production processes were discussed.
