In Buenos Aires, discussions were held on strengthening economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Argentina in various sectors.
The First Deputy Minister of Economy, Elnur Aliyev, held a meeting at the Ministry of Economy of Argentina with the Secretary of Finance, Pablo Guirno, and the Secretary of Production Coordination, Pablo Lavigne.
The meeting highlighted that mutual visits, signed agreements, and implemented activities play an important role in the development of relations between our countries. In this context, the 2nd meeting of the Azerbaijan-Argentina Joint Working Group on Trade and Economic Cooperation, held during the visit of the Azerbaijani delegation, serves as a significant platform for deepening economic relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, information was provided on our country’s favorable business and investment environment, the updated legislative framework in this area, investment promotion and protection agreements signed with numerous countries, including preferential trade agreements, as well as the opportunities offered by international investment instruments in which our country participates. Argentine business representatives were invited to actively engage in cooperation.
The parties discussed strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations, potential joint projects, and other matters of mutual interest.
During the meeting with Maximiliano Westen, Vice President for Strategy, New Business, and Control, and Matias Farina, Executive Vice President for Exploration and Production of Argentina’s state-owned energy company YPF, information was provided on Azerbaijan’s energy potential and initiatives, the green energy agenda, ongoing cooperation in this area, and applied technologies. It was emphasized that there are extensive opportunities for Azerbaijan to collaborate with Argentina in both traditional and alternative energy sectors.
