As part of the working visit to the United Arab Emirates, the Azerbaijani delegation, headed by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, attended the International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) held in Abu Dhabi.
At the event, which showcased modern technologies, innovative solutions, digital transformation, and strategies for transitioning to renewable energy in the oil and gas industry, new global trends in the energy sector were presented. During ADIPEC, Azerbaijan shared its experiences in energy transformation and sustainable economic development.
Within the framework of the event, Minister Mikayil Jabbarov held a meeting with Gordon Birrell, the Executive Vice President for Production and Operations at bp. The meeting focused on improving energy supply, implementing exploration and production projects in the oil and gas sector, establishing new connections in the Caspian Sea, Asia, and Africa regions, and evaluating investment potential.
The parties emphasized the importance of diversifying the joint activities between SOCAR and bp, based on the reliable partnership and strengthened regional synergy, and highlighted mutual perspectives for the future.
The discussions also stressed that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the implementation of innovations in the energy sector, the development of renewable energy sources, and the expansion of international partnerships. In this regard, long-term strategic cooperation with international partners provides an important platform for the implementation of new projects during the energy transition period.
