The Agency for Development of Economic Zones (ADEZ) of the Ministry of Economy organized a press tour to agro-parks located in the Shamkir region. First, media representatives got acquainted with the work done in the agro-park of Azershekar LLC, located in Jeyranchol.
The tour reported that modern irrigation (pivot) systems were installed on 1500 hectares of the total arable area of 4000 ha of the agro-park. Grain, sugar beets, corn kernels and soybeans were sown on the field.
The agro-park, with the investment value of 13,4 million manats, employs 71 people permanently and 30 people seasonally. Currently, grain harvesting is underway in the agro-park.
Later on, the media representatives visited Shamkir Agropark. They were reported that the Entrepreneurship Development Fund of the Ministry of Economy provided a soft loan for the establishment of an agro-park with an investment value of more than 62 million manats. Fruit trees (cherries, apricots, plums, quince, etc.) have been planted in the agro-park with areas of intensive gardening, sorting, packaging and logistics. At the moment, fruit picking continues in the agro-park.
Shamkir Agropark, located on an area of 559 hectares, has 64 cold stores with a capacity of 24,000 tons. Moreover, the production area has 2 terminals that can receive 200 tons of products and 1 terminal that can send 120 tons of finished products.
The agro-park employed 100 people.
