On July 22, the SMB Fest exhibition fair took place in the city of Shaki under the organization of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) under the Ministry of Economy.
At the “SMB Fest”, which took place on the territory of the Khan’s Palace, SMBs from the city of Shaki and nearby areas exhibited and sold handicrafts of the region, including pottery, ornamental art, hat making and copper artwork, various handicrafts, Shaki sweets, beekeeping products, soft drinks, canned food, and light industry products. In general, more than 1,500 items of food and non-food products from about 70 micro and small businesses, as well as handicrafts of artists and creative professionals were showcased. Within the framework of the festival, master classes in woodcarving, origami, etc., as well as a cultural and entertainment program were organized.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of SMBDA Board Orkhan Mammadov noted that SMB Fest was held to support the sale of products of micro and small businesses, promote local products, and expand ties between manufacturers and suppliers. As reported, the "SMB Fest" exhibition fair, held in Shaki, is the seventh of this kind. Prior to this, Baku, Ganja, Lankaran, Sumgait, Shamkir and Guba hosted the SMB Fest, where more than 300 SMBs presented their products and services.
Elkhan Usubov, the Head of Shaki City Executive Power, expressed the importance of holding the event in Shaki, voicing that the fair is useful in terms of promoting regional products and establishing links between local SMBs.
